ERP Transformation Project Manager

Mt. Prospect, IL
Full Time
Mid Level
Position Summary: The ERP Project Manager will play a critical role in the successful delivery of Lapmaster Wolters' ERP transformation across the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany. Reporting to the ERP Program Lead and working closely with business leaders, IT teams, and implementation partners, this individual will drive day-to-day program execution, cross-functional coordination, business readiness, and organizational adoption.

This role serves as the central point of coordination for the ERP program, ensuring activities remain aligned, dependencies are managed, risks are addressed proactively, and decisions are escalated and resolved in a timely manner. The successful candidate will bring structure, discipline, and accountability to a complex, global transformation while helping the organization prepare for new ways of working.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can influence without direct authority, and is equally comfortable working with executives, functional leaders, technical teams, and external partners.

Core Responsibilities
Program Management & Execution
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the ERP transformation program across all business and technical workstreams. Maintain the integrated project plan, ensuring clear ownership, milestones, dependencies, and critical path visibility.
  • Drive project governance activities, including status reporting, risk management, issue resolution, decision tracking, and executive updates. Proactively identify schedule risks, resource constraints, and unresolved decisions, and facilitate corrective actions to keep the program on track.
  • Coordinate program meetings, working sessions, and steering committee reviews while maintaining project documentation, action logs, decision logs, and RAID management processes.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Sales, HR, IT, Supply Chain, Master Data, and other business functions to ensure alignment and coordinated execution.
  • Manage interdependencies across process design, system configuration, data migration, integrations, reporting, testing, training, and deployment activities. Facilitate collaboration between business teams, technical resources, and external implementation partners across the U.S., U.K., and Germany.
  • Ensure workshops and project sessions are well organized, appropriately staffed, decision-oriented, and followed through to completion.

Testing, Deployment & Go-Live Readiness
  • Coordinate end-to-end readiness activities, including data migration, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), training, cutover planning, go-live preparation, and hypercare support.
  • Monitor testing progress, issue resolution, and readiness metrics to ensure risks are identified and addressed before deployment. Support go-live planning and transition activities to enable a smooth handoff to steady-state operations.

Change Management & Organizational Readiness

  • Partner with business leaders and process owners to develop and execute change management and business readiness plans that support successful adoption of the ERP solution.
  • Assess organizational impacts, identify adoption risks, and develop strategies to mitigate resistance and build capability across affected functions and geographies.
  • Coordinate communications, stakeholder engagement activities, training programs, change champion networks, and super-user initiatives to ensure employees are prepared to successfully adopt new processes and systems.
  • Measure and monitor readiness, training effectiveness, and adoption outcomes through go-live and stabilization.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of project or program management experience, including ERP or large-scale enterprise system implementations.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders, geographies, and external partners.
  • Strong experience with integrated project planning, dependency management, risk management, governance, and executive reporting.
  • Experience coordinating testing, data migration, training, deployment, and go-live activities.
  • Proven ability to drive accountability, resolve issues, and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Experience supporting organizational change management, business readiness, and user adoption initiatives.

Preferred
  • SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, or engineered products industry experience.
  • Experience working within global organizations, including collaboration with European teams.
  • Experience managing external ERP implementation partners and system integrators.
  • PMP, Agile, Prosci, or related project management/change management certification.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
