ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader within our semiconductor equipment engineering team, driving the design and development of high-precision capital equipment and industrial machinery. You will own complex product development programmes end-to-end from concept and detailed design through prototype, build, and test cycles 
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including process engineers, software and controls engineers, Multiphysics modelling specialists, and suppliers to resolve challenging design problems and address high-value customer requirements. You will also play a key mentoring role, guiding junior engineers through design trade-offs and best practices. This is a significant opportunity to shape the next generation of semiconductor equipment at a company actively defining the future of advanced packaging technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES but not limited to:
  • Provide technical leadership to guide engineering teams through design trade-offs across prototype, build, and test cycles.
  • Lead projects of notable complexity and risk; develop top-level design strategy for product development programmes.
  • Collaborate with the Multiphysics modelling team to analyse performance characteristics and evaluate design trade-offs.
  • Resolve design problems related to product performance across engineering, manufacturing, and field environments.
  • Interface with internal and external customers on significantly complex engineering issues, addressing High Value Problems (HVPs) across a range of products.
  • Facilitate communication across diverse teams including process engineers, technicians, software/controls teams, and suppliers.
  • Ensure design specifications comply with and exceed all applicable regulatory standards in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of complex engineering problems; perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Prioritise and manage multiple concurrent projects within defined design specifications and budget constraints.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Strong expertise in precision mechanical design, FEA, GD&T, and complex mechanism development.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering plastics including polypropylene, PVDF, Teflon, PTFE, PFA, PVC, and similar materials.
  • Develop, design, or modify mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, or drawings/specifications
  • Perform advanced stress, thermal, tolerance, and vibration analyses.
  • Define test requirements, coordinate test execution and document complex engineering test reports and specifications
  • Drive DFX initiatives while establishing operational standards.
  • Proven ability to independently lead complete product design and development cycles.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Good knowledge of ASME, ISO, and SEMI standards applicable to semiconductor equipment.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across engineering disciplines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to deliver results under minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities with a commitment to developing junior talent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 6–8 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on capital equipment or industrial machinery.
  • Prior exposure to semiconductor equipment, precision manufacturing, or high-tolerance engineering environments is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering team members.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
